Guyana:
"Final Evaluation of the Basic Education and Management Support Project"
(project funded by Inter-American Development Bank)
Provide the final evaluation for a US$33.5 million educational project supported through a US$30 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank. MindBloom was asked to evaluate all four components of the project:
1. Improved school performance
2. Expand the organizational capacity of the Ministry of Education
3. Additional and improved secondary school facilities
4. Programme coordination
The improved school performance component of the project focused on advancing literacy and numeracy in Guyana. MindBloom examined national assessment data, surveyed teachers and school administrators, and conducted classroom observations and individual interviews to assess the changes in education and learning outcomes. Further, MindBloom consultants examined teacher training and the impact of that training on teaching methodologies.
Jamaica:
Project 1: "Information and Communication Technology, University of Technology Enhancement Programme"

Assess the current ICT infrastructure, including the institution’s management information and enterprise systems as they relate to the institution’s academic and operational objectives. Prepare detailed plans for achieving full availability of services, including risk management plan for emergency and disaster situations, for ICT-based access to University resources, for integration of all university enterprise systems (human resource management, library information management system, integrated student administration system and facilities management) and for the development of a full e-learning environment. Activities include extensive stakeholder consultation (surveys, focus groups, interviews), a thorough description of the current ICT infrastructure, recommendations for ICT objectives and implementation strategies for achieving those objectives.
Project 2: "Enhancement of Learning and Teaching, University of Technology"
(project funded by the Caribbean Development Bank)
Consult with appropriate University of Technology administrators concerning the teaching skill set desired for faculty. Develop a workshop series to facilitate the development of the skills for a cohort of 40 faculty members. Deliver workshop modules on such topics as the learning centred environment, the development of academic literacies, active learning strategies, classroom assessment, technology in the learning environment and redesigning curriculum. Each workshop was evaluated and participants who completed the programme received certification in university teaching
Barbados:
"Final External Independent Evaluation of the Education Sector Enhancement Programme"
(project funded by the Inter-American Development Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank)
Provide the final evaluation for a US$213 million educational project funded by the Government of Barbados, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank. MindBloom was asked to evaluate the following specific aspects of the project:
1. Curriculum reform to meet emerging needs
2. Effectiveness of training for teachers and administrative staff
3. Effectiveness of technology infusion – including the procurement and installation of hardware, software and technical infrastructure
4. Effectiveness of physical rehabilitation of schools to enhance the learning environment
5. Effectiveness of the project management
Canada:
"RCMP Canadian Champions Initiative"
(project funded by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police)
The project involved the development of a drug awareness video and associated/integrated teaching resources that will be distributed to secondary schools across Canada. The video accesses celebrities that provide advice on good adolescent choices. The teachers handbook provides activties to accompany the video presentation.

Dominica:
"Consulting Services for Multi-Grade Teaching"

The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development is seeking to develop a strategy for Multi-Grade Teaching in the country’s primary schools. The goal of the consultancy is to make recommendations for the successful introduction of Multi-Grade teaching practices in Dominica, to work with Dominica State College to develop a module that can be delivered as part of its teacher education programme, to deliver workshops for education practitioners in Multi-Grade teaching

The Ministry of Education is revising its primary school curriculum through an IDB funded project called Support for a Seamless Education Programme. The purpose of the Programme is to create a seamless education from early childhood through tertiary education so that citizens of Trinidad and Tobago can proceed smoothly through the system. The main goal of the consultancy is to support the improvement of the quality and relevance of primary education through revisions of the primary school curriculum and articulation of the curriculum with the early childhood and secondary school curricula.
